Frequently Asked Questions About Direct-To-Wall Printing

You Ask, We Answer

What is directt-to-wall vertical printing, and how does it work?

Direct vertical wall printing uses a specialized, automated vertical printer on wheels that moves up and down along your wall surface.

What surfaces and materials can you print on?

Drywall, plaster, exposed brick, concrete, wood, glass panels, metal plates, and tile.

How is direct wall printing different or better than vinyl wrap?

Direct wall printing completely eliminates vinyl: whereas vinyl simply covers a surface, our printing inks merge directly with the substrate's texture, creating a unique, permanent look that appears naturally painted onto the wall with zero edges to peel or bubble.

How is direct wall printing different or better than a hand-painted mural?

Direct-to-wall digital printing offers two massive advantages over traditional hand-painted murals: absolute precision and unmatched repeatability. Software-driven vertical print heads reproduce intricate details and photorealistic gradients instantly with zero human error, while digital files guarantee 100% brand consistency across multiple locations. Furthermore, advanced UV-curing allows large-scale murals to be completed in hours rather than days, eliminating operational downtime.

How is direct wall printing different or better than wallpaper?

Direct wall printing gives you the sophisticated look of custom wall coverings or subtle background textures with zero seams, zero glue, and zero bubbling. For subtle designs previously onve achieved by wallpaper, we can cover massive walls with minimum material, only printing where the pattern is.

Is this considered "real art" even though it is printed by a machine?

Absolutely. Just as a digital camera or professional printer is a medium used by artists and photographers to bring a creative vision to life, our vertical printer is an advanced tool that executes digital art with breathtaking precision.

Are the inks safe, toxic, or odorous?

Completely safe. We use eco-friendly, UV-curable inks that are odorless, non-toxic, emit zero hazardous vapors, and are fully certified for use in medical and healthcare facilities.

Do I need to close my business or clear out the area while you are printing?

No! You can stay completely open. If fact customers and employees love to watch the machine at work and the space transform.

How long does a wall print take to complete?

Most standard accent walls or logos take just a few hours to print from start to finish.

Can you print floor to ceiling?

The wall printer is an amazing machine, but it does have clearance limitations. It cannot print floor to ceiling or all the way to inside corners. However, the flexibility of having edgeless prints with organic shaped borders, or fades allows us to create a design that truly fills and lives in the space without going floor to ceiling. We need roughly a foot clearance.

How big an image can you print?

The vertical printer handles heights up to 16 feet on its own, and we can scale higher using secure risers or scaffolding when the space calls for it. The length is virtually infinite.

Because we're printing high-definition graphics straight onto your walls, the main factor for massive installations is the source image resolution—so if you're considering a large-scale project, we'll set up a quick consultation to review the artwork and make sure it stays crisp.

Is the machine loud or disruptive?

No, its similar to your printer at home. Its quiet, odorless, and fun to watch!
